Meditation for Insomnia

In this 4-week series, we will explore practices to help ease your body and mind into deep states of relaxation that support you to fall asleep, stay asleep and get restful sleep. By working regularly with these practices, you create a routine that conditions your body and mind to fall asleep easily and quickly.

We will explore ways to:

  • Deeply relax the body.
  • Shift your brain from its focusing network to its defocusing network.
  • Nourish a felt-sense of Well-being no matter your circumstance or situation.
  • Proactively engage thoughts and emotions during the day so that bedtime is freed up for sleep.

Each session will include a 30-minute guided meditation which will be recorded for your use at home. Led by Shari Pitts.

About Shari:
Shari has advanced training in the iRest® (https://www.irest.us/projects/irest) meditation protocol. iRest is a practical, research-tested combination of modern mindfulness self-inquiry tools and ancient meditation techniques. She was drawn to iRest for its scientific base, which appeals to her mind, and because it doesn't require sitting in uncomfortable positions, which appeals to her body.
